Customer Insight Newsletter

Hi there! It's very nearly Christmas and since we published our last news letter 30 days have gone by; it's now only 40 days until Christmas... and counting!
Anyway, Christmas is given short shrift in this month's newsletter as I'm sure next month will contain a few references to it (and it was also the subject of last month's).
This month, inspired by the recent opening of shopping centre local to IRC in Cardiff and Bath, we look at brand experiences offered by the customer service of those big nationals that pack our favourite shopping centres up and down the country.
We also look at the VAT rise due in the new year. Perhaps not the most sensible move on the face of it, but something that is seemingly inevitable.
As promised we also provide an update on House of Retail, our Dutch partner, and their insight report on two major trends. It does indeed provide interesting reading on new concepts and successful retailers from original desk and field research.
On a lighter note we also include news regarding the running of, or rather running at IRC. Insight MD Martin Bloom likes nothing more than a challenge and that is certainly what he got when he attempted a cross country half marathon in Dorset recently.
And finally... We look at the increase in coffee shops during a time when most other industries have been hard hit. Losses during the recession have certainly been coffee houses gain. So with so many it wouldn't be hard to get a good latte right...!?
