Customer Insight Newsletter
October '09 |

Hello again, and welcome to the October edition of Insight Retail’s newsletter.
Is it me or is this year just flying by! I can't quite believe I am writing the October issue of our newsletter already, let alone writing about Christmas!
However, Christmas is indeed on the horizon and at time of writing there are only 70 shopping days left until 25th December! So, with that in mind, this month we look at the prospects for retailers and restaurateurs in the first Christmas since the recession really stamped its mark.
Following on from recent newsletter themes of innovative and inexpensive ways to increase custom we also consider the annual fright fest that is Halloween, an opportunity to further develop unique and quirky service that influences brand commitment.
Leaving behind the festive frivolities of Christmas and Halloween we also assess the impact of the recession on ethical consumerism. In this current economic climate are we really a nation still bothered about spending extra money to allay our ethical consciences?
You may also have read in our latest news section that Insight Retail has had some recent additions to its team. This month we focus on Kevin and Raj, the new guys in the Property department.
We are also delighted to announce that Insight Retail has developed a working partnership with dynamic Dutch retail network House of Retail.
And finally... I had a rather easy task this month in writing a piece on the Loungers bar/cafe chain. One of my favourite haunts in Bristol, this also gave me the excuse to visit more of their now nationwide outlets. If you can, you should definitely do the same!
