Running IRC
Early in November our trusted MD and leader Martin decided that doing ‘deals’ wasn’t enough of a challenge for him. Having completed the Bristol half marathon back in September he decided to compete in a race of quite a different nature; the Endurance Life Coastal Challenge Series, basically a 4x4 half marathon. Lovely for a quiet Saturday morning I’m sure you’d agree.
Starting with a long steep run out of Charmouth, the muddy course scaled Dorset’s highest cliff top as well as sweeping grassy downhill stretches. With sunshine, rain and wind aplenty the weather was changeable, as I imagine was Martin’s pace throughout (although I’m sure the weather didn’t actually stop at some points!).
Needless to say though, our illustrious leader completed the challenge, although I’m not sure he will want to share his finishing time with you. Let’s just say it was quite a bit slower than the time it took him to run around Bristol’s somewhat friendlier roads and when I saw him on Monday morning he was walking rather gingerly, but only due to a couple of blisters he was quick to point out!
